Welcome to the very first edition of the new BWARE Quarterly Newsletter!

How awesome is that?!), we are thrilled to kick off this new way of staying connected with you. Our goal? To keep you in the loop with industry insights, exciting product updates, and a sneak peek at what our passionate team has been working on behind the scenes.

What’s New This Quarter?

Exciting Updates to the Workplace Section!

We are thrilled to introduce a revamped Workplace section, packed with new features and improvements to make managing your Safety Plans even easier:

New App Refresh

We have also refreshed the BWARE App!

We have refreshed the BWARE App to give you a smoother experience:

A Heads-Up on Pricing – Effective 1st June 2025

To keep delivering the service you expect (even in this challenging economy), we are making a small 5% subscription adjustment—our first in four years. We get that times are tight for small businesses, so we are introducing a monthly direct debit option at no extra cost. If that is a better fit for you, just drop us a line at accounts@bware.co.nz and we will get you set up!

Understanding H&S through your People and how they Work.

Health and safety is more than just ticking boxes, it is about understanding how work actually happens and creating systems that support workers in real-time. That is where Human & Organisational Performance (HOP) comes in. Instead of focusing only on compliance, HOP helps businesses shift their approach to safety by recognising that:

For SMEs, adopting HOP means moving away from a reactive, rules-based approach and towards a proactive, people-focused safety culture. Small changes like involving workers in safety decisions or using a digital H&S system to track near-misses can make a big difference.

Here are a couple of useful links to Human & Organisational Performance:

Upcoming Reforms to WorkSafe NZ Regulations

The New Zealand Government has announced significant reforms to the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, aiming to streamline compliance and reduce the burden on businesses.

These reforms are part of a broader initiative to make health and safety regulations more practical and less cumbersome for businesses, without compromising worker safety.

H&S DISCUSSION FORUM

Are you looking for a space to connect with other H&S professionals and SME business owners like many of our members, share insights, and get expert advice on workplace safety? BWARE is looking to launch a Health & Safety Forum, a place where our members can collaborate, discuss challenges, and help shape the future of our members H&S management.

Why Join?

If you are interested in being part of this, please contact our Services Manager, chrislambeth@bware.co.nz. If there is enough interest, we will set up a Zoom meeting to get everyone together.
